Cost Estimator and Modeler IV (Multiple Positions)

 

Job Title Cost Estimator and Modeler IV (Multiple Positions)
Position Full Time W2 in Northern VA (Contingent)
Minimum/General Experience At least 15 years of DoD/DON cost estimating experience with knowledge of the latest cost analysis policies, regulations, and methods. Experience building and managing complicated cost models in support of acquisition programs. An additional five years of this experience is required if the individual only possesses a Bachelor’s Degree as described below.
Functional Responsibility Position Description/Tasks to be Performed:

Cost Estimator and Modeler IV provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments. Establishes goals and plans that meet project objectives. Has domain and expert technical knowledge. Provides expert level advices and analysis to the Government; improving management, control, and execution of key activities and efforts. Interactions involve customer negotiations and interfacing with senior management. Advice, analysis, and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation. May supervise others.

  • Supports the PMW 240 Product Development Group (PDG)
  • Develops and maintains cost models unique to estimating program development and life-cycle costs based on PMW 240’s tailored acquisition approach and established industry standards (e.g., COCOMO, Monte Carlo simulation)
  • Develops recommended program funds phasing plans, spend plans, and other documents such as project specific Affordability Analysis
  • Analyzes alternative material solutions with respect to defined requirements to determine cost and risk
  • Develops Standard Operating Procedures and recommends process improvements
  • Develops and maintains resource model to estimate manpower demands and skillsets to successfully execute new (or existing) programs to include development of Project Initiative Schedules and Schedule Analysis

Other Requirements:

  • Must be a United States Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance
Minimum Education Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, or related field from an accredited program with at least 15 years of experience or Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, or related field from an accredited program with at least 20 years of experience.
