Information Assurance Specialist IV (New Orleans, LA)

Job Title Information Assurance Specialist IV (Key Personnel)
Position Full Time W2 in New Orleans, LA
Minimum/General Experience At least fifteen (15) years of engineering/computer experience with at least ten (10) years of Information Assurance (IA) experience.  Experience in DoD Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP)/DoD Information assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) DoDI 8510.01.  Possess DoD approved Baseline Certification as Information Assurance Manager, Level II in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M (i.e., Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GLSC),  or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM))) and are currently a Fully Qualified Navy Validator. An additional five (5) years of this experience is required if the individual only possesses a Bachelor’s Degree as described below.
Functional Responsibility
Position Description:

Provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments.  Establishes goals and plans that meet project objectives. Has domain and expert technical knowledge.  Directs and controls activities for customer, having overall responsibility for financial management, methods, and staffing to ensure that technical requirements are met.  Interactions involve customer negotiations and interfacing with senior management.  Decision making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation.  Supervise others.

Responsibilities:

  • Review program engineering artifacts to ensure compliance with all DoD/DoN Information Assurance requirements
  • Participate in Program Reviews to ensure all Information Assurance requirements are met
  • Validates penetration tests and vulnerability assessments using EyeRetina vulnerability scanner, Defense Information systems Agency (DISA) Gold disk and Security Readiness Review (SRR) scripts.
  • Validates operating systems and network devices security configuration in accordance with DISA approved security technical implementation guides.
  • Validates IA certification tests, security audits and risk analysis.
  • Analyze, Develop and update Program Protection Plans, Information Assurance Strategies, and other security related acquisition documentation in support of programs
  • Ensure that security related provisions of the system acquisition documents meet all identified security needs.
  • Validates mitigation strategies for DoD information systems.
  • Prepares certification letters and Memoranda of Agreement (MoA) with system owners for interface and networking implementations.
  • Develops IA related acquisition documents.
  • Identifies Common Criteria and National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) certified technologies.
  • Validates Program IA products in use by programs are in compliance with DoD/DoN requirements
  • Participate in FLTCYBERCOM Designated Accrediting Authority collaboration calls

Requirements:

  • Department of Defense experience (Navy experience preferred)
  • Government Cloud is a huge plus
  • Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP)/Department of Defense Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP) is required
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills

 Other Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
Minimum Education Master’s Degree in business, engineering, computer related or mathematics or related field from an accredited program with at least 15 years of experience or Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, computer related or mathematics from an accredited program with at least 20 years of experience.
